04 Mar Changes at McLeod
At McLeod Country Golf Club, there are enormous and subtle changes occurring to the course and surrounds visually.
For the first time in 58 years, the course is undergoing modern changes to the layout, with the winding water through the course getting a new dam and water feature on the 15th hole from April 1st. The ‘Evelyn’ development by Aura Holdings has commenced on the old 14th hole, as the development of 124 premium golf course frontage retirement units and villas emerge from the ground.
The course has a new Par 3-7A which is the 1st of the Richard Chamberlain Design masterplan holes, that encompassed the old 7th which is now a challenging Par 4 where a precise tee shot is required to set up for a shot to the green. The old 14th is now a challenging Par 3 with the new tee block construction commencing in March. The 16th hole is out of play while the 15th Hole dam and stunning fairway is exposed for the end of May play. While this is happening the 16th old bunkers have been remodelled to grassy swales to test the golfer when the hole reopens.
Now currently a Par 68 for men and 71 for women the New Weekly Jackpot competition gives the social golfers with Golflink/WHS handicap and players form other clubs the chance to take on these tough new challenges. Play across 6-days in this event and depending on the players from Monday to Sunday in the public access social play tee times, prizes can be as high as $190.00 for 1st place if 68 players compete.
Social golf is at an all-time high and we also have a new Social Golf Club annual membership of $799.00 which gives you access to these 6-day a week competition in the social tee spaces for only $17.00 comp fees on top of the discounted green fees.
