21 Oct Play On! Sports Vouchers Help Local Children Get Started in Golf
McLeod Country Golf Club is pleased to announce that it has been approved as an activity provider for the Play On! Sports Vouchers program, providing families with an opportunity to use their eligible $200 sports voucher towards getting their children involved in golf.
The Play On! Sports Vouchers program is designed to help Queensland families make sport and physical activity more accessible for children. Through the program, eligible parents and carers can register their children and use the $200 voucher towards an approved sporting activity with a participating provider.
At McLeod Country Golf Club, families can use the voucher towards a child’s membership, with the child receiving a CADET non-affiliated membership. The voucher payment is made directly to McLeod Country Golf Club, helping families reduce the cost of getting their child started in golf.
Once the voucher has been applied to the membership, the difference can be paid to the McLeod Pro Shop. This allows families to access one of the Club’s junior golf lesson packs and provides children with the opportunity to begin developing their golfing skills under professional guidance.
Golf is a sport that can provide children with much more than an introduction to the game itself. Learning to play golf encourages concentration, patience, coordination and perseverance, while also providing an opportunity to spend time outdoors and develop confidence in a supportive sporting environment.
For children who are new to golf, professional lessons can provide a positive introduction to the fundamentals of the game. Junior lesson programs are designed to help young players learn the basic skills and develop their understanding of golf in an enjoyable and structured environment. As their skills develop, children can continue to build their confidence and become more involved in the Club.
