19 Aug Junior Golfers Ready to Take on the Course
McLeod Country Golf Club is inviting junior golfers of all abilities to join us for an afternoon of golf, fun and friendship at our upcoming Junior Competition on Saturday, 22 August 2026.
Designed to encourage young golfers to get outdoors, enjoy the game and build confidence on the course, the Junior Competition provides a welcoming and relaxed environment for children and teenagers aged between 5 and 18. Whether your child is picking up a golf club for the first time, developing their skills or looking to gain valuable competition experience, there is an opportunity for everyone to get involved.
The competition will cater for a range of ages and abilities, with participants able to choose between three, six or nine holes. This flexible format allows juniors to enjoy a level of competition that suits their experience while developing important skills, confidence and a love of the game.
The event will be held at McLeod Country Golf Club, with the first tee times commencing from 2:45pm. The Junior 9 Hole Competition will tee off at 2:45pm, followed by the 6 Hole Competition at 3:00pm and the 3 Hole Competition at 3:30pm.
Entry is just $5 per player, making the afternoon an affordable opportunity for families to introduce their children to competitive golf in a supportive club environment. All participants will also receive a drink and light dinner following their round, with a presentation to be held after the competition.
The post-round presentation will provide an opportunity to recognise the efforts of our junior golfers and celebrate their participation, while also giving families the chance to relax and enjoy some time together at the clubhouse.
Junior golf plays an important role in developing the next generation of players, providing young people with opportunities to learn the fundamentals of the game while developing qualities such as patience, concentration, sportsmanship and resilience. Events such as the McLeod Junior Competition are also a great way for young golfers to meet others who share their interest in the sport and become part of the wider golfing community.
