McLeod Country Golf Club is proud to celebrate a remarkable achievement by its Ladies Pennant Team, who have secured the 2026 Brisbane District Ladies Golf Association (BDLGA) Silver Pennant title after a highly competitive and closely contested season.
The race for the premiership remained undecided until the final round, with McLeod and Oxley Golf Club locked in a tight battle throughout the competition. In the end, McLeod emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins, finishing just 0.5 points ahead of their rivals to claim the coveted pennant flag.
The victory is a testament to the dedication, determination and team spirit displayed by every member of the squad throughout the season. Representing the club with pride and professionalism, the players consistently demonstrated resilience under pressure and a commitment to supporting one another in pursuit of a common goal.
The final round proved to be a fitting conclusion to such a hard-fought competition. Players were faced with extremely challenging conditions, battling gale-force winds and persistent rain that tested both skill and endurance. Despite the difficult weather, the McLeod team rose to the occasion, producing the performances required to secure the points needed to clinch the title.
A significant contribution was also made by the team’s caddies, whose support, encouragement and local knowledge played an important role throughout the campaign.
